The Garden Path in the Wondering Woods

We created a garden path made of reactive pavers as a part of our larger group installation, the Wondering Woods at Electric Sky (2017). As you stepped on the pavers, a pulse of light went down the garden path to show you the way. The garden path was an orienting piece in the Wondering Woods installation, both created by our art group. The goal was to explore what if the woods could see you and interact with you. LEDs were controlled by wifi-enabled Arduinos.

See video with demo of LED animation here:

Following Electric Sky, we also installed the Garden Path as a component of the Wondering Woods at Lusio in Volunteer Park (2017), Seattle, and Arts-a-Glow in Burien, WA (2017).

Medium: acrylic, glass, cement, controllable LEDs, Arduinos, wi-fi, controllable LED floodlights
